New Teacher Mentoring and Induction Programs: An Overview of District Responsibilities

New Teacher Mentoring and Induction Programs

The new state certification/licensure regulations require that all districts have both Induction Programs and Mentoring Programs for new teachers. What are these two types of professional development opportunities? What do they mean for the school district and the local association? For veteran teachers and our future colleagues? This slide presentation is designed to provide an overview of the three components of New Teacher Programs required by 603 CMR 7.00, to explain the components of each, and to offer some advice to planners.
